HAPPY HALLOWEEN

I kinda can't believe it's Halloween. Partially because it's 33 degrees outside and it just SNOWED. And partially because Justin and I have been so busy recording that we haven't had any time to make costumes or carve pumpkins or go to any parties.

I did, however, manage to get some decorations up last week. I went with a Mexican style Diá de los Muertos vibe, and crafted up a storm. I made tissue paper flowers, papier-mâché skulls, papel picado votives, and then threw in anything glittery, and some pumpkins for good measure.

  2. You do realize that, "Dia de los Muertos, " isn't related to Halloween, but a time to honor and remember our loved ones who have died? It's a cultural event, not something to use for trick or treating.

  3. As a person who celebrates Dias de los muertos I think it's wonderful that you decorated for Halloween on Day of the dead theme! I'm Mexican American and am decorating my home in traditional day of dead items for Halloween! You did great job!

  4. A few years ago, I moved from the Texas to Australia, where October and Halloween falls in the springtime. Every Halloween I get terribly homesick, but this year I wanted to try decorating for the first time. Dia de los Muertos combines so beautifully with Halloween in the spring season here, and it gives me a sense of comfort and connection with my family, who I miss so much. Thank you so much for giving me this inspiration to make new Halloween memories in my new home.
