Yesterday Justin and I went on a mission for possible photo shoot locations. We drove down to Liberty, NY to check out Grossinger's Resort. Or, more specifically, the shell of what once was Grossinger's Resort. It used to be a super sweet summertime destination in the 60s and 70s (see postcard above)...but it eventually closed in 1986 and has been abandoned ever since. The years have not been kind...but there is something undeniably magical about the state of decay.

I want that chandelier!
ReplyDeleteThe gang's not here anymore........how sad!!! The beach chairs are like tyke bikes they out live their usefulness. Did you know Jenny Grossinger fanned the romantic flame of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher at her hotel.
ReplyDeleteWhen things have stood still for many years, there is something beautiful. But here I sense this sexiness exuding the space.
ReplyDeleteStunning. I went to Grossinger's as a kid but this is just beautiful. Thank you for sending along.
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous photos. a bit haunting. love them.
ReplyDeleteYou beat Gothamist by a year on this one.
